Inclusive Skills Competitions
Inclusive Skills Competitions enable young people with learning difficulties and disabilities to showcase their work skills and growing independence.
Working in partnership with WorldSkills UK, Natpsec, the lead organisation for specialist further education, has been developing the Inclusive Skills Competitions programme.
Inclusive Skills Competitions are open to people working up to Level 1 and are designed to showcase the skills of students with learning difficulties. The Competitions also build links between further education colleges (specialist and mainstream), work-based learning providers and employers across the country.
The Competitions stretch and challenge young people, improve their self-esteem and confidence, help showcase their work skills, and most importantly show employers how they can perform under pressure to industry-standard competition criteria.
Organisations may register up to three people per Inclusive Skills competition.
In 2018 we are continuing to develop the offer and Inclusive Skills Competitions will be taking place in the following areas:
- Inclusive Skills: Catering
- Inclusive Skills: Restaurant Service
- Inclusive Skills: Fitness Instructor
- Inclusive Skills: Hairdressing
- Inclusive Skills: Health Life Sciences
- Inclusive Skills: ICT
- Inclusive Skills: Media
- Inclusive Skills: Woodworking
- Inclusive Skills: Horticulture
Heats will take place across the country during the summer term and the winners will be invited to take part in national finals at WorldSkills UK LIVE, at the NEC Birmingham, in November.
Full details of the heats will be communicated by the end of April.
