DfE calls for experts to determine new T Level Content

Friday, 09 Mar 2018

At the end of March, The Department for Education  will open recruitment for five new T level panels.

Do you have experience of Business and Administration; Creative and Design; Hair and Beauty; Catering and Hospitality or Agriculture, Environmental and Animal Care?   Would you like to sit on the T level panels and develop outline content for the new T levels?

T levels will be a gold standard for technical and professional excellence, co-created and co-delivered by employers, providers and other partners to ensure the skills system responds to the changing labour market. The Department for Education agreed in the Post 16 Skills Plan to accept all the recommendations made by the Independent Panel on Technical Education and have already begun work to deliver the reforms as set out in the T level action plan.

T level panels, made up of employers, professional bodies and providers, are responsible for developing the outline content for new T levels. There are already T level panels in place across 6 routes: Digital; Education and Childcare; Construction; Health and Science; Legal, Financial and Accounting; and Engineering and Manufacturing. These panels are working hard to create outline content for those T levels to be delivered in 2020 and 2021.

At the end of March, The Department for Education  will open recruitment for the panels for the five remaining T level routes, which will be delivered from 2022: Business and Administration; Creative and Design; Hair and Beauty; Catering and Hospitality or Agriculture, Environmental and Animal Care.  They are looking for people with direct experience of occupations in those areas and are keen to have a diverse balance of industry professionals, including experienced practitioners, managers/trainers of practitioners, or members of professional bodies or trade associations.

If you would like to find out how you can get involved, please contact employer.panels@education.gov.uk for further information.
