This competition will not be running in 2021.

Plumbing is an essential trade which specialises in installation and maintenance of systems used for hot / cold water, heating, gas, solar & sanitation. Plumbers work in a diverse range of locations from occupied customers’ homes, new build housing and commercial buildings. They are relied on for installation of appliances in bathrooms and kitchens, as well as heating installations and piping in buildings that are fitted to industry and regulated standards.

Entry criteria

  • This is an individual competition
  • Competitors must be any student who is working towards a Plumbing Level 2/3 qualification (basic pipework skills training must have been completed) or anyone in employment in the UK with the relevant qualification
  • Competitors must be at least 16 years of age.
  • There is no limit to the number of competitors permitted to enter this competition per organisation
  • For colleges who have merged to form a group, 3 competitors per Group will be permitted with only 1 competitor per campus. (Each campus to offer plumbing Qualifications)

How it works

Our competitions are open to all so please register before 14 May

The first stage of competition is a remote or online test (where applicable)

Competitors take part in competitions at their local college, training provider centre or work place, or, take part in an online competition

Scores are quality assured and Finalists are announced

Competitors prepare and practise in readiness for the National Finals

The Finalists come together to compete in the National Finals

Those who are age eligible and have achieved the benchmark score will be invited to opt into Squad UK during the WorldSkills Lyon 2024 cycle
