To excel in this career, those looking to become a visual merchandiser will need to follow floor plans, draw designs and use space creatively. They will need to arrange displays and dress props, and produce brand guidelines for the store.

The individual will need excellent creative skills, using their initiative in coming up with new ways to do things. Have excellent customer service skills and communication in dealing with customers and the team. They will need the ability to teach sales staff on how to display goods and help with learning and development.
