Tasty Careers is on a mission to make the food and drink industry the number one choice for a long and exciting career. Bringing together brands from across the sector, the organisation gives inspirational careers advice to young people looking to kick-start their careers.

Building the future

With a growing skills shortage, the food and drink industry is looking to attract the next generation to drive the sector forward. That’s why Tasty Careers has been exhibiting at WorldSkills UK LIVE since 2014, heading up a unique ‘food and drink’ hub to explore the sectors’ varied carrier paths.

For Tasty Careers and its member brands, exhibiting at the event is key to addressing looming skills gaps and busting myths about the industry – as well as showcasing the many career types on offer

The food and drink hub brought together major brands from the industry to give visitors a chance to experience possible future careers. In 2018, free samples and hands-on activities helped attract thousands of young people over the three-day event, thanks to brands such as Heineken, Muller, Coca Cola, Nestle, Haribo, Coca Cola and McCormick.

“WorldSkills UK LIVE is a really worthwhile, great experience and all the businesses we brought with us loved attending,” says Amy Crooks, Head of Marketing, Tasty Careers. “It’s a great opportunity to showcase our industry to lots of young people.”

We have a huge skills shortage in our sector - it’s important for us to be able to showcase all the careers available in our sector, dispel the myths and encourage the next generation – WorldSkills UK LIVE gives us this opportunity.
