Restaurant Service competition focus on all the essential requirements for embarking on a career working within the hospitality industry.
The Foundation Skills competitions have been created to showcase the skills of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), additional learning needs (ALN), or who require additional support for learning (ASL), who are currently undertaking a course with an FE or training provider at Entry level or level 1.
The competition is an opportunity for young people who may be aspiring to work in the Hospitality industry to showcase their talent and demonstrate their journey towards work-readiness. Some examples of the job roles available might be:
Health and Safety
Professionalism
Communication skills
Organisation skills
Commercial awareness
Flexibility
Problem solving
Team working
The competition is for learners with SEND with an Education health & Care Plan (EHCP) on a vocational, employability or work-skills programme. It is roughly equivalent to a vocational qualification at:
Our competitions are open to all so please register between 27 February – 24 March 2023
The first stage of competition is a remote or online test (where applicable)
The National Qualifiers will take place on the week commencing 19 June 2023,Via remote streaming using Teams.
Scores are quality assured and Finalists are announced
Competitors prepare and practise in readiness for the National Finals
The Finalists come together to compete in the National Finals
Competitors who are age eligible and have achieved the benchmark score will be invited to opt into Squad UK during December 2024 for the WorldSkills 2026 Cycle, subject to the skill progressing to the international competition cycle.
