WorldSkills UK shows its support for World Youth Skills Day
Monday, 11 Jul 2016
WorldSkills UK is proud to support World Youth Skills Day on 15 July and we are asking that all our partners join in the celebration.
Officially recognised by the United Nations and WorldSkills, the aim of the day is to raise awareness of the importance of skills in addressing the challenges of youth unemployment in countries around the world.
David Hoey, CEO of WorldSkills International said: “In celebration of World Youth Skills Day, WorldSkills is joining forces with the United Nations and other international and regional organizations, to raise awareness of the importance of acquiring skills as a means to achieve better socio-economic conditions for all youth. Along with our 75 Members we are united in demonstrating on World Youth Skills Day, and every day, how to improve the world with the power of Skills.”
To show your support, use #SkillsRuleTheWorld on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to share a behind the scenes photo of how you develop, share and put your skills to work. This could be a photo of a competitor taking part in a National Qualifier, apprentices at work or members of Squad UK in training for WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017.
Share your pictures from now until 16 July and don’t forget to include @worldskillsuk in your post.
