This module has been designed in partnership with Electude, the world’s leading automotive e-learning company for, students and apprentices currently working towards Level two qualifications that cover light vehicle maintenance and repair principles.
This module will help you to accurately measure tread depth and determine whether a tyre needs replacing. You will learn about the relationship between tyre pressure and the service life of a tyre, as well as other factors that influence this. Reasons for tyre wear will also be explored.
The module takes around 90 minutes to complete. You will be continually tested as you work your way through, with a series of quizzes and other activities. Once you have completed all sections successfully, you will be awarded a downloadable WorldSkills UK certificate.
In this module, you will learn to:
inspect the serviceability and condition of wheels and tyres
carry out wheel and tyre maintenance
identify wheel and tyre size markings
identify defects associated with wheels and tyres
tyre sizes and designations.
