You will learn to use Node-RED to create an online dashboard for a production line operator by identifying important pieces of information, using a Siemens PLC controller and the software UA Expert to locate this information and connect to the controller’s OPC UA server of each PLC.
You will start by learning about the 7-steps to developing excellence in your area of study, as well as how you can improve your productivity, work organisation and management in the hospitality and lifestyle sector.
Once you have completed these stages, work through a detailed step-by-step demonstration of how to analyse the system’s structure, create a dashboard using different software, transferring information and running the system. The Masterclass then guides you to perform the tasks shown in the demonstration and offers a set of downloadable resources to assist you.
This masterclass can be divided into separate tasks, however the overall task will take you about 90 minutes to complete. You are required to successfully answer a series of multiple choice questions at the end of your learning before being awarded a downloadable WorldSkills UK certificate.
In this technical masterclass, you will learn to:
create 2D wireframes using CAD/CAM software
think about how to plan for the task and put a strategy in place that can be used in similar tasks
recognise the importance of using hotkeys to improve productivity and efficiency
identify and apply mathematical and geometrical principles to create accurate component representations
explore your own best strategies to produce the task
learn how to complete the task within time, accurately and to standard
recognise the importance of creating wireframes to the mid limit tolerance to ensure accuracy.
