Give your learners the chance to ‘see it and be it’ at the Inspiring Skills and Careers Excellence Schools’ Programme, as students and apprentices compete in the WorldSkills UK National Finals in 17 skills ranging from 3D digital game art to culinary arts, cyber security, health and social care (full list below).

Seeing competitors not much older than themselves perform their skills, meeting employers and engaging in STEM and other skills interactive ‘have a gos’ will inspire your learners to broaden their career aspirations and consider technical education and apprenticeships as prestigious career routes.

What to expect

Salford University and The Manchester College City Campus 15 and 16 November are hosting this exciting event and will give a flavour of campus life. 

Sessions last 1.5 hours running from 09.15 – 15.15. 

Limited travel and supply bursaries are available, apply early.

Leading employers from a range of industries including STEM will be on- hand and eager to answer students’ questions and give insights into how to get into a range of careers. WorldSkills UK Skills Champions who are ex-competitors and ambassadors for skills, technical education and apprenticeships will offer insights into their own career journey, and the opportunities and challenges they have experienced.
