The gold medallists from the WorldSkills UK National Finals 2023 attended a special meeting at the Houses of Parliament in London on Monday 22 January with Minister for Skills, Apprenticeships and Higher Education Robert Halfon.

Representing skills as diverse as Cyber Security, Accountancy Technician and Aircraft Maintenance to Digital Media Production, Commercial Make Up and Industrial Robotics, the medallists represent the very best in young talent across the UK.

“Meeting the talented gold medallists from the WorldSkills UK National Finals and personally congratulating them on their outstanding achievements has been truly inspiring.

“Their remarkable success in their chosen skills journeys not only exemplifies their dedication but also mirrors my passion for building a skills nation. These individuals stand as shining examples, illustrating that apprenticeships and technical education are catalysts for every young person’s ability to skyrocket up the skills ladder of opportunity.”

The WorldSkills UK National Finals took place in November 2023 at venues across Greater Manchester, with the medal ceremony held at the Bridgewater Hall.

“Our 2023 gold medallists are the new generation of high-flyers that will give UK employers a competitive edge.  It has been fantastic to celebrate their achievements at the Houses of Parliament in London.

“The WorldSkills UK National Finals not only celebrate the best in young talent, but also provide a vital opportunity to benchmark skill development in the UK and internationally.  Using the insights we gain, we are working to ensure that all apprentices and students across the UK can gain access to high-quality technical education and apprenticeships that lead to real success for them and their employer.”
