AI/ML and Disrupted Futures: Embedding a Future Skills Model Approach

When the future for technical skills for our learners maybe a ‘disrupted’ future, this session focuses on what it means to create a Future Skills Mindset. It will look at how to develop practices in our curriculum delivery for skill development impact, in a future where the industry changes are unknown, and where some roles do not yet exist. It will also include how educators can create curriculum impact with toolkits for beyond the session and straight into impactful learner change.

WorldSkills UK Technical Masterclass- Fusion Essentials for Manufacturing (2-day CPD course)

10 June (9.30–4.30pm) – In-person at Symetri, Wakefield
3 July (9.30–4.30pm) – Online

Ideal for new or transitioning users, this hands-on course teaches how to use Autodesk Fusion for CAD and CAM in manufacturing. Packed with industry-relevant examples, you’ll gain essential skills in 2D sketching, 3D modelling, and creating assemblies specifically for manufacturing.

Day 1 (In-person):

  • Understand Fusion’s interface
  • Create and constrain sketches
  • Build and edit 3D features
  • Apply materials and physical properties
  • Use equations and manage design timelines

Day 2 (Online):

  • Use advanced features and analysis tools
  • Model and simplify for manufacturing
  • Build assemblies and use parameters
  • Add fasteners and create basic documentation
