accountancy is the process of communicating information about the financial state of an organisation to its stakeholders, usually in the form of financial statements. Those looking to become an accountant will need to develop a broad skill set that enables the individual to analyse, interpret and propose solutions to business-related problems. Increasingly there is a need to understand and harness the data produced by an organisation in order to drive and manage change

A typical day in for an accountant can vary from processing and paying invoices, to record receipts and payments. Every role varies in different organisations where you may have to prepare and check ledger balances and other monthly accounts. As you progress into your apprenticeship, you will complete and handle company expenses as well as update accounting systems.
