Mechatronics Engineers build, maintain, repair and programme systems for the automation industry. Competitors who are looking to become a mechatronics enginner apply their theoretical knowledge of fundamental principles – automation, pneumatic, electrical/electronic and PLC technologies.

The individual will need design skills, the ability to use, repair and maintain machines and tools. They will need to oversee the programmes and quality control them. They should have excellent leadership skills in leading projects within a team of engineers.
