Dylan

“I became a Skill Champion as I wanted to give back. I am a third year Automation engineering apprentice at Amazon who chairs the South Apprentice Committee. I have competed twice before in WorldSkills UK in both Electronics and Mechatronics. I loved the opportunities I was given to develop myself and I want to share it with others so they can develop as well.” – Dylan

Rosie

“I became a Skills Champion because I am passionate about inspiring young people and showing them the power of skills. Competing at WorldSkills Lyon 2024 was my biggest achievement and now I want to help others see their potential and realise they can do anything they put their mind to.” – Rosie

Luke

“I became a Skills Champion because I’m passionate about inspiring the next generation of engineers and showcasing the incredible opportunities that WorldSkills UK offers. Competing internationally had a huge impact on my confidence and career, opening doors I never imagined. Now, I want to encourage others to seize the same opportunities—to grow, to excel, and to take their careers to the next level.” – Luke

Adhi

I became a Skills Champion to share my STEM expertise with young people through WorldSkills UK. Because there’s no better place for one to start their career than competing with WorldSkills UK. Their industry network and training are incredible, and I want more young people to experience the opportunities, support, and inspiration that they offer for career growth.” – Adhi

I became a Skills Champion because I really want to show other young people how beneficial vocational learning and these competitions are. I have pushed myself and learnt so much more than I could have imagined and met so many amazing people through the competitions, I don’t want this to be the end. – Peter

Ruby

Dan

“I became a Skills Champion because I want to raise awareness around the opportunity WorldSkills UK presents young people. It has massively improved my quality of life and I hope to pass that experience onto as many people as I can.” – Dan

Kasia

I feel so lucky and privileged to have taken part in WorldSkills, it has genuinely been one of the most amazing experiences of my life and volunteering as a Skills Champion enables me to give back to an organisation that has given me so much. I remember how it felt to lack confidence and to hear from speakers whose success felt completely out of reach. I’m honest with them about the fact I wasn’t a standout student, struggled at times with my education and had a previously unsuccessful competition attempt, but I kept going. I hope that by sharing this with young people, it shows that you don’t have to be amazing at a skill or subject initially, but with determination and willingness to learn, you never know what you might achieve and the life/career you are capable of building for yourself. If I could make it onto Team UK, they absolutely have a shot too! – Kasia

Antony

“I became a Skills Champion to help more people understand the impact of WorldSkills UK. This platform is more than just a competition. It’s a catalyst for confidence, opportunity, and pride in technical excellence. I’m committed to raising awareness and inspiring others to explore these valuable pathways.” – Antony

Ana

‘I became a Skills Champion because I want to give back, inspire the next generation and show them that with passion and perseverance they can achieve incredible things’ – Ana

Josh

“I became a Skills Champion because I wanted to share my passion in science combined with my experience and skills gained within a range of scientific subjects. I want to show young people that no matter what your interests are, if you are passionate about a particular subject then express it and it will take you far in the future”.  – Josh

Danny

“I became a Skills Champion because I want to inspire as many young people as I can to help them achieve their full potential in their careers and personal development.” – Danny

Suzanne

“I became a Skills Champion to help inspire the next generation. I also wanted to give back to WorldSkills UK as competing in the Lab Tech competition in 2019 opened so many new doors for my career and personal growth”. - Suzanne
