The EDI Ambassador Award is open to educators, employers, competition organising partners, training managers. Nominees will be individuals or organisations who have truly led change and created impact.
The winner will be revealed at the virtual awards ceremony on 24 February, 4-5pm.
We have introduced this new award as part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion and our mission to help as many young people as possible, from all backgrounds, get the best start in work and life. We believe it is important to recognise the outstanding dedication and commitment of individuals or organisations who have delivered initiatives to inspire and achieve real change for the benefit of communities across the UK.
“We are delighted to support these awards as the need for business to support such awards has never been greater. The global pandemic threatens to reverse the excellent progress we’ve made towards building a more equal, inclusive and sustainable economy, preventing us from meeting the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). So now, more than ever, we must turn to the young, bright, creative minds of today, so we can flourish tomorrow by showing our gratitude for outstanding individual achievements”
Steven Forrest, CEO
This category is not open for nominations; it will be awarded by WorldSkills UK EDI leads from across the WorldSkills UK community. The individual, group or network will have contributed to exceptional activities which have removed barriers, created an environment where individuals feel they can be their authentic selves, and feel that they belong irrespective of their place in society. They will have been an ally to many through their thought leadership and knowledge of best practice. They will have delivered outstanding contributions over an extended period that will leave a legacy and be a shining example and source of inspiration for others.
