WorldSkills UK has today (Friday 9 October) confirmed that Ben Blackledge, who was due to step down as Chief Executive of the organisation on Friday 9 October, will continue in the role, with immediate effect.

“

Marion Plant OBE, Chair, Board of Trustees, WorldSkills UK said:

“The WorldSkills UK Board has agreed a request from Ben Blackledge to withdraw his resignation and continue as Chief Executive.

Following Team UK’s success in Shanghai alongside exciting developments in our workforce development activity, and the continued opportunity to support young people into the world of work, we are delighted that Ben will continue to lead WorldSkills UK. The achievements of our young professionals, trainers and partners show what ambition and the right support can make possible. We look forward to building on that success, bringing international learning back to the UK and extending our impact across technical education through the Centre of Excellence.”
