About WorldSkills Shanghai 2026

Held every two years, the WorldSkills Competition is the world’s largest international gathering of skills talent. An estimated 1,400 Competitors from 73 countries and regions will compete in 64 skills, including seven new emerging occupations. Each Competitor has earned their place through national and regional selection competitions and is getting ready to showcase skill excellence in Shanghai.

From 22 to 27 September 2026, the 48th WorldSkills Competition will be hosted at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai, China, the world’s largest exhibition complex. The event opens with a ceremony, continues with three days of competition, and concludes with a closing ceremony featuring medal presentations and awards.

Important dates:

  • Opening Ceremony: Tuesday 22 September 2026
  • Competition: Wednesday 23 to Saturday 26 September 2026
  • Closing Ceremony: Sunday 27 September 2026

Meet Team UK

Selected and trained in skills excellence by WorldSkills UK in partnership with Pearson, the world’s lifelong learning company, 26 competitors will represent Team UK competing across 24 skill competitions.
