This module takes a look at some examples of improving the quality of tasks within the hospitality and lifestyle sector by removing some of the seven types of waste (also referred to as ‘TIMWOOD’), a key concept in Lean management. Whether you are training for a career as a beauty therapist, nail technician, butcher, chef, hotel receptionist or restaurant manager applying Lean principles in your everyday work can have a transformative effect.
This module will explain how these principles work in practice. Learners can also access a video and downloadable PDF on the impact of Lean in the hospitality and lifestyle sector.
The module is suitable for learners of all levels and takes around 20 minutes to complete. Although there is no assessment, learners are awarded a downloadable WorldSkills UK certificate when they have completed the module.
