WorldSkills UK in partnership with Coca-Cola European Partners are delighted to announce the launch of the Diversity and Inclusion Heroes Awards 2020.

WorldSkills UK and Coca-Cola European Partners both believe that all young people, from all backgrounds, deserve the same chance to succeed through technical skills and vocational education and are committed to making this a reality.

Hear from our Chief Executive, Dr Neil Bentley-Gockmann OBE, and Sharon Blyfield, GB Early Careers and Apprenticeships, Coca-Cola European Partners about the Diversity and Inclusion Heroes Awards 2020, and why they provide a vital platform to recognise outstanding commitment to the diversity and inclusion agenda.

 

The Diversity and Inclusion Heroes Awards 2020 are to honour, celebrate, and shine a light on individuals and organisations who are going above and beyond, championing diversity and inclusion within their organisations and the wider technical education sector.

Hosted in partnership with Coca-Cola European Partners, the awards are open to all students, apprentices, employees and organisations within the technical education sector, and are an opportunity to recognise outstanding commitment to promoting and supporting diverse and inclusive practices and celebrate those making a real difference.

All nominees will be invited to attend the Diversity and Inclusion Heroes Awards Digital Ceremony being held on Thursday 28 January 2021, where the winners will be announced and congratulated.

Entry to the awards is FREE, and you can enter more than one category. Details of each of the six categories are below, along with a link to submit your nominations.

Assessment Criteria

For all Award categories, we are particularly interested in role models who have worked to engage one or more of the following underrepresented groups: 

  • Young women in STEM and Construction;
  • Black, Asian and minority ethnic young people;
  • Young people identifying as LGBT+;
  • Young people with special educational needs and / or disabilities; and
  • Young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. 

All of the awards will be assessed on the information provided in the submission form, including, the approach, reach and impact, and innovation.
