  • Event Steward Volunteer

    This role supports all customer service and visitor engagement aspects of the show during the live days Thursday 16 – Saturday 18 November. During the event you will be supporting with:

    • Visitor welcome, registration and information points
    • Catering distribution for competitors
    • Signposting and guiding visitors to relevant areas of the event.

    In order to fulfil this role you need to be able to have a high level of spoken English, excellent communication skills, be happy standing on your feet all day in a very public role.

    You will be involved in a range of activities, engaging with the public in a polite manner and work within a large team helping in all aspects of the show from Spotlight talks, Showcase demonstrations, Have a Go, information desks, registration, event guide distribution, crowd management, visitor welcome and general signposting.

    Training: 1 hour briefing and familiarisation at the NEC on Wednesday 15th November 

    Shifts: 8am – 4pm Thursday 16, Friday 17 and Saturday 18 November. 

  • Specialist Roles

    There are a small number of specialist volunteer roles at The Skills Show including marketing volunteers, careers advisers, Build Volunteers, Skills Champions and Team Leaders. These roles are recruited directly with organisations.
