They may also use art techniques to decorate the nails in a variety of ways. The Nail Technician normally works in beauty/hairdressing salons and specialist nail salons as well as nail bars in large department stores, airports and shopping malls. There are also opportunities to become self employed, to teach nail techniques to others or to work on photography and fashion shoots.

What does the competition cover?

Nail Enhancements is a live competition where all competitors are assessed on an allocated day and judged by a panel of professionals in the field. Competitors must demonstrate a commercially acceptable nail art treatment using a range of nail art mediums. Competitors will be marked on the use of any of the below mediums:

  • Technique
  • Consultation
  • Customer care
  • Hygiene
  • Aftercare and retail

This competition will allow you to display your skills and creative flair.

In March 2008 competitors will be allocated to heats across the country, these will be run in April – May 2008 with final to be held in June 2008. Please continue to check back on the website for updated information.

Dates will be announced on the website soon.

What happens if I win?
