About the competition - Holistic Therapy - Reflexology
The competition focuses on the role and tasks of a reflexologist. This comprises client consultations to elicit information about clients’ health, lifestyle issues and medical history in order to identify appropriate and effective treatments. Competitors are also expected to demonstrate their understanding of pressure techniques using the thumbs and fingers on the reflex areas of the hands and feet.

Entry Levels: Intermediate and Advanced

Who can enter?
These competitions are intended for those training or working as reflexologists. There are two
levels of entry:
Advanced: training to be a reflexologist working towards a level 3 qualification.
Higher: for those working in industry as a qualified reflexologist with no more than three
years experience.
How many can enter?
Up to one competitor per level per organisation may enter.
Assessment criteria
- Health, safety and hygiene
- Consultation
- Treatment
- Aftercare
Assessment will be by observation, examination of the consultation card, and questions as required to demonstrate appropriate theoretical knowledge.
Competition structure
Stage one: enter online between 7 January – 9 April 2009.
Stage two: competitors will be invited to compete in a heat.
Stage three: highest scoring competitors across all heats who meet the required standard
will be invited to compete at the UK final.
