About the competition - Hairdressing

At each level the competition will comprise of two tasks that relate to both women’s and men’s hairdressing. Each task will offer scope for creativity as well as technique and good working practice. Each task will be carried out on official mannequin heads.

Competition Type: Live

Who can enter?

This competition is intended for those training to be hairdressers and working towards relevant qualifications at either level 2 or level 3.

Intermediate: appropriate for those with up to four years of related experience and/or training.

Advanced: appropriate for those with four–seven years of related experience and/or training.

How many can enter?

Up to three competitors may be entered per salon or educational campus, per level.

Compliance with instructions

Competition structure

Stage one: enter online between 7 January – 9 April 2009.

Stage two: competitors will be invited to participate in a live heat.

Stage three: highest scoring competitors across all heats that meet the required standard will be invited to compete at the UK final.
