About the competition - Nail Technology: Nail Art
Competitors will be able to display a highly creative finished product and show knowledge of
current fashion trends and artistic nail design. For the intermediate competition the judges will
be looking at the artistic ability rather than the commercial skills. A working log will be
produced by all competitors. For the advanced competition competitors will be expected to use
embellishments, 3D and/or cut-out designs.

Who can enter?
These competitions are intended for those training or working as nail technicians. There are
three levels of entry:
Intermediate: training to be a nail technician working towards a level 2 qualification.
Advanced: training to be a nail technician working towards a level 3 qualification.
Higher: for those working in industry as a qualified nail technician with no more than
three years experience.
How many can enter?
Up to one competitor per level per organisation.

- Interpretation of the theme
- Precision
- Artistic interpretation and execution
- Health, safety and hygiene
Competition structure
Stage one: enter online between 7 January – 9 April 2009.
Stage two: competitors will be invited to compete in a heat.
Stage three: highest scoring competitors across all heats who meet the required standard
will be invited to compete at the UK final.
