About the competition - Nail Technology: Nail Enhancements
Competitors will be expected to demonstrate their skills and creative flair for nail
enhancements. In the competition competitors must create a commercially acceptable nail enhancement
using fibreglass or silk, tip and overlay of any system for intermediate and sculptured nails using
gel or acrylic for the advanced and higher competitions.

Who can enter?
These competitions are intended for those training or working as nail technicians. There are
three levels of entry:
Intermediate: training to be a nail technician working towards a level 2 qualification.
Advanced: training to be a nail technician working towards a level 3 qualification.
Higher: for those working in industry as a qualified nail technician with no more than
three years experience.
How many can enter?
Up to one competitor per level per organisation may enter.
Assessment criteria
- Interpretation of the theme
- Precision and technical application
- Artistic interpretation and execution
- Health, safety and hygiene
Competition structure
Stage one: enter online between 7 January – 9 April 2009.
Stage two: competitors will be invited to compete in a heat.
Stage three: highest scoring competitors across all heats who meet the required standard
will be invited to compete at the UK final.
