Who is this competition for?
The competition is designed for people preparing to be web designers through training, work experience and employment at all industry standards.
What does the competition prepare you for?
The competition places you within the role of the web designer by expecting you to design an easily navigated web site from conception to completion. A web designer uses a combination of programming techniques and web design software to build new websites or enhance existing ones. A good web designer must have knowledge of ‘front end’ concepts (how the site looks) and ‘back end’ systems (how the site works). In other words s/he needs to be technically proficient and creatively minded.
What does the competition cover?
The competition will be judged at two stages:
Stage one: competitors will submit their work for assessment
Stage two: the highest scoring competitors will be invited are invited to attend
the UK live final
Competitor accommodation expenses and travel will be paid by UKSkills
What happens if I win?
UK Gold winners will be invited to a high profile national awards event.
If eligible, outstanding national winners may be invited to compete for a place in the UK
team for a WorldSkills Competition.
