About the competition - Microsoft Network Administrator (Formerly ICT Networking: Microsoft) - Closed

This competition consists of the installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of ICT networks. The Microsoft Network Administrator competition will test the knowledge and skills learned in the Microsoft official curriculum range of qualifications.

Dates and venues of competition heats are not yet available; if you have registered already, you will be notified when you are able to choose which heat you would like to attend, if your competition is to have heats.

Entry Levels: Advanced

Entry Deadline: 19 March 2010

Entry Type: Individual competitors

Competition Type: Live

Competition structure

Stage one: enter online by 19 March 2010.

Stage two: competitors will be invited to participate in a live heat.

Stage three: highest scoring competitors across all heats that meet the required standard will be invited to compete at the UK final.

How many can enter?

Two competitors per organisation.

What happens if I win?

UK Gold winners will be invited to a high profile national awards event.

If eligible, outstanding national winners may be invited to compete to for a place in the UK’s team for a WorldSkills Competition.

Who can enter?

The competition is for those working or training in the IT industry. Competitors should be either working towards or have completed their Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, Server 2003 and Server 2008 qualifications.

Advanced: Those undertaking qualifications up to level 3 (for England, Northern Ireland and Wales) up to level 6 (for Scotland) or up to five years experience in a working environment.

Further opportunities

There is a City & Guilds qualification available for this competition.

There is the possibility of progressing to a EuroSkills competition.

There is the possibility of progressing to an International WorldSkills competition.
