The accounting technician competition has been designed to reflect aspects of an accounting
technician’s role. This competition will provide an invaluable opportunity to test your skills
nationally against teams to promote excellence within your industry.

Who can enter?
The competition is intended for those who have completed their AAT level 2 qualifications, and working towards their AAT level 3 qualification. The competition is open to both education and industry.
How many can enter?
Up to three teams of three competitors per organisation.

Assessment criteria
- Financial accounting
- Preparing ledger balances
- Preparing reports and returns
- Working effectively as a team
Competition structure
Stage one: In March 2009 teams will be allocated to heats across the country, these will be
held in April 2009.
Stage two: Teams who have achieved the highest marks in each region and across all heats
will be invited to the UK final on Saturday 27 June 2009 at AAT, 140 Aldersgate Street, London EC1A
4HY. Finalists will be announced at the AAT Conference in Newcastle on 24 April 2009.
