Who is this competition for?
The competition is designed for three competitors aged up to 24 years of age, working as a team with one of the competitors acting as team manager. Each competitor must be proficient in one of the three required disciplines: CADD, electrical/electronics and conventional/CNC machining, and be able to assist in the other two.
What does the competition prepare you for?
This competition places you within the manufacturing environment by closely simulating the processes followed in manufacturing industry.
What does the competition cover?
The competition sets the team a manufacturing challenge. The competition tests the competitors’:
- Team work
- Production and documentation of design solutions
- Knowledge of production solutions
- CADD skills
- Electronic/electrical skills
- IT applications skills
- CNC and conventional machining skills
What happens if I win?
The winning team will be invited to a high profile national awards event.
Subject to eligibility, outstanding national winners may be invited to compete for a place in
the UK’s team for the WorldSkills Competition.
