About the competition - Industrial Electronics

 

The competition places you within the role of the electronics engineer and the standards that are required within the industry. Although the competition is largely practical competitors will be required to have a thorough understanding of the theory associated with:

  • Fundamental electronics principles
  • Components in electronics
  • Multistage and special amplifier circuits
  • Generators and pulse shapers
  • Digital electronics

Entry Levels: Advanced and Higher

Entry Deadline: 09 April 2009

Entry Type: Individual competitors

Competition Type: Live

Who can enter?

The competition is for technicians working or studying in the electronics industry. The electronics competition is based on the standards attained by trainees who have reached S/NVQ level 3, HNC and working towards an HND with knowledge of IPC-610-00D.

How many can enter?

Up to three competitors per organisation.

Assessment criteria

 
  • Assembly
  • Fault finding
  • Testing
  • Design

Competition structure

Stage one: enter online between 7 January – 9 April 2009.

Stage two: competitors compete in a heat.

Stage three: highest scoring competitors across all heats that meet the required standard will be invited to compete at the UK final.
