What does the competition prepare you for?

This competition places you within the world of the video moving image. Working in television involves the excitement of your work being watched by, and potentially influencing, millions. It also means that to work in television you have to be highly responsible, creative and committed.

Television is a challenging industry, offering opportunities to work with the best in the world in every field from journalism to camerawork, writing through production to editing, and across all genres of programming.

It is hard to break into this industry without relevant work-experience or a training programme recognised by a professional body.  Gaining entry involves being well-qualified, highly-skilled and committed.  This competition will develop your portfolio of experience and give you that added extra.

What does the competition cover?

The competition will be judged at two stages:
Stage one: competitors will submit their work for assessment
Stage two: the highest scoring competitors will be invited to screen their work at the Cultural and Creative Arts Exhibition in June 2008.
