Who is this competition for?
This competition is designed for young people and adults from 16 years of age who are preparing for careers in radio studio production. This is a competition for individuals or teams of up to four competitors. What does the competition prepare you for?
The competition places you within the world of radio studio production. The ability to research, plan, operate and present a self operated radio programme is a key element in current radio station practice. Presenters are expected to plan and present their own shows aided by a technical operator in some instances. Knowledge and technical skills in the use of appropriate acquisition, recording and editing equipment is essential in ensuring good quality broadcasting coupled with a creative and enthusiastic approach to the tasks.
What does the competition cover?
The competition will be judged at two stages:
Stage one: competitors will submit their work for assessment
Stage two: the highest scoring competitors will be invited to exhibit at the
Cultural and Creative Arts Exhibition in June 2008.
What happens if I win?
UK Gold winners will be invited to a high profile national awards event.
