About the competition - Popular Music
The Popular Music competition has been designed to reflect aspects of a musician’s work role.
The competition will provide you with an invaluable opportunity to test your skills nationally
against others at your level.
This competition will complement your training and preparation to be a musician. Competitors
are expected to perform two tracks as a band.
Entry Levels: Advanced
Entry Deadline: 19 March 2010
Entry Type: Team competitors
Competition Type: Live
Competition structure
Stage one: enter online by 19 March 2010.
Stage two: competitors will be invited to participate in a live heat.
Stage three: highest scoring competitors across all heats that meet the required standard
will be invited to compete at the UK final.
The winning finalists will receive a prize of a 4 hour Music Directors Workshop at Tech Music
Schools in London. This must be taken up during the summer (before the end of August) and the whole
band must attend. The prize will expire on 31st August.
How many can enter?
Bands of between three – seven members, no more than two bands per organisation.

Who can enter?
The competition is intended for those working towards relevant programmes of study in music.
Advanced: Those undertaking qualifications up to level 3 (for England, Northern Ireland and
Wales), up to level 6 (for Scotland) or up to two years experience in a working environment.
Built Environment

Within the UK, the cultural and creative sector is of great economic and social importance, accounting for over 5% of gross domestic product, and growing at twice the rate of the economy as a whole. The sector covers many careers that directly benefit other sectors because they add a wealth of creative capabilities to other businesses and organisations.
Engineering
