Who is this competition for?
This competition is intended for young people and adults from 16 years of age with no upper age limit. The competition has been developed to complement related programmes of learning up to level 3.
What does the competition prepare you for?
The competition places you within the role of the musical theatre performer. Musical theatre is a form of theatre combining music, songs, spoken dialogue and dance. The emotional content of the piece: humour, pathos, love, anger, as well as the story itself, must be communicated through the words, music, movement and technical aspects of the entertainment as an integrated whole. The role varies widely, as it may involve performing in a wide range of settings, but predominantly live theatre.
What does the competition cover?
The competition will be in two stages:
Stage one: competitors will attend a regional heat
Stage two: the highest scoring competitors will be invited to compete at the UK
Final
What happens if I win?
UK Gold winners will be invited to a high profile national awards event
