About the competition - Graphic Design

 

This competition gives competitors an opportunity to work to a design brief, plan and submit work to a deadline, as would be expected of a professional graphic designer. The competition offers a balance between technical and creative skills and allows competitors to develop and showcase their abilities in these areas.

Competitors will be expected to show proficiency in industry standard design applications:

  • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or QuarkXPress
  • Adobe Acrobat Professional

Entry Levels: Advanced and Higher

Entry Deadline: 09 April 2009

Entry Type: Individual competitors

Competition Type: Mixed

Who can enter?

This competition is intended for those undertaking a relevant graphic design programme of study or training at level 3 (advanced) or level 4 (higher).

Advanced: equivalent to two to seven years of training and/or experience of employment, or a level 3 qualification.

Higher: equivalent to at least five years of training and/or experience.

How many can enter?

Up to three competitors per level per organisation.

  • Creative ability
  • Creative assessments
  • Final design and typography
  • Manual abilities

Competition structure

Stage one: enter online between 7 January – 9 April 2009.

Stage two: submit entries for judging.

Stage three: highest scoring competitors that meet the required standard will be invited to compete at the UK final.
