About the competition - Fashion Design - Ethic 2008

Ethic is back, putting the compassion into fashion. We are looking for inspirational design which rises to the challenge facing today’s fashion industry.

Winners of the Ethic 2008 competition, sponsored by Brother, will receive a £450 cash prize and will be invited to the high profile UK Skills national awards ceremony. Who can enter?

This competition is open to anyone who have an interest in fashion design, production and fashion business management. As a guide to its scope and standard: the competition has been designed to support the development of people preparing to be fashion designers through level 3 training programmes. 

Assessment criteria

This is a ‘mixed’ competition.  The competition is judged at two stages:

Stage one: competitors submit their entry for short-listing to stage two, by post.
Stage two: short-listed competitors are invited to the UK final to present their garment and have their outfit shown in a live fashion show.
