Who is this competition for?
This competition is open to anyone with an active interest in the visual arts. As a guide to its scope and standard: the competition has been based on the standards for art and design programmes at level 3 which prepare competitors for immediate or deferred entry to careers in visual art.
What does the competition prepare you for?
The competition places you within the role of the visual artist. Artists create original work, such as paintings, sculptures and installations, which they then seek to sell through galleries, agents and dealers. They may also be commissioned to produce specific pieces of work.
What does the competition cover?
The competition will be judged at two stages:
Stage one: competitors will submit their work for assessment
Stage two: the highest scoring competitors will be invited to exhibit at the
Cultural and Creative Arts Exhibition in June 2008.
What happens if I win?
UK Gold winners will be invited to a high profile national awards event.
