About the competition - Made to Measure Fashion

The Made to Measure competition promotes the importance of technical skills required within the UK fashion industry.

Competitors are invited to submit two designs from a body of working sketches showing evidence of experimentation, garment construction and problem solving. Selected competitors are required to construct their designs over a series of 2 day live events.  Entries must be emailed to worldskillsuk@ukskills.org.uk by 14th January 2009.

Competition Type: Live

Who can enter?

This competition is intended for those working in industry or undertaking a relevant programme of study in fashion design at level 3 or 4 (BTEC ND, foundation degree, HNC, HND or Bachelor of Arts).

How many can enter?

Up to five competitors per organisation.

Assessment criteria

You will be assessed at each stage of the competition and marked against the criteria as set out in the competition brief.

You will be marked by three independent judges from industry.

Competition structure

Stage one: download entry form via www.worldskillsuk.org and submit by 14 January 2009.

Stage two: Submit your designs to Skillfast-UK by 27th February 2009 -  Michelle_Ritchie@skillfast-uk.org

Stage three: highest scoring entries are invited to the heat in April 2009 to create their first toile.

Stage four: competitors that meet the required standard will be invited to compete at the UK final to construct their final garment.
