Who is this competition for?

SKILLBUILD competitions are open to young people working and training within the construction industry. Entries are normally sought through colleges of further education and independent training organisations throughout the UK.

In 2008 SKILLBUILD will organise 13 regional competitions across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. (Competitions in Northern Ireland are organised by SKILLBUILD NI).

The winning competitors in each trade in each region and devolved nation, subject to meeting a minimum standard, are invited to compete in the SKILLBUILD National Final Competition to identify the best young trainee in the UK in each skill.

For some of the skills, qualifying competitors may be short listed to join the UK team competing in the biennial WorldSkills Competition.
