Who is this competition for?
The standard of this competition is Advanced and Higher. It is open to those currently training at level 3 and above, or possessing at least 2 years’ training and/or experience. Competitors must be born on or after 1 January 1983.
What does the competition prepare you for?
The competitions will complement your training and help prepare you for a career in garden design.
What does the competition cover?
This competition provides a unique opportunity to showcase the many different elements of a
garden designer’s work role. Creativity, design, drawing, computer and communication skills
are essential, as is an understanding of horticulture and construction, and a wide knowledge of
planning, law and environmental issues.
Stage 1: Register for the competition online by
21 December 2007
Stage 2: The competition will be held on
16th January 2008 at Reaseheath College, Cheshire
What happens if I win?
Subject to reaching the minimum standard, the highest scorers across regional heats will go
through to the UK Final. The winners of the UK Final will be invited to a high profile awards
event.
Subject to eligibility, outstanding national winners may be invited to compete for a place in
a future UK team entering the EuroSkills Competition.
